We support people who are experiencing accidental or involuntary loss of:
wee (urine) from the bladder (urinary incontinence), or
poo (faeces) or wind (flatus) from the bowel (faecal incontinence).
The clinical nurse specialist will first assess your continence issue. This can be done:
in the clinic
by phone or Zoom
in your home.
We will give you advice on how to best manage your continence problem.
Our services include:
bladder and bowel management care and advice
bladder retraining programmes
providing information to you and your whānau or caregivers
consultation and advice if you have medication-induced incontinence
referral to a pelvic floor physiotherapist for assessment and treatment
liaison with GPs, urologists, gynaecologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and dieticians if needed
advice on how to access and use continence products.
We may invite you to come back for an annual reassessment.
