Wellbeing of our people flows from our values
Improving the health of Māori in Hawke's Bay is a major focus of Health NZ — Hawke's Bay staff. As well as specific services for Māori, we are committed to providing treatment and care that is both accessible and culturally acceptable to Māori. To achieve this, a number of our services have designated Māori positions, to make sure specific services are provided for Māori, by Māori.
Health NZ — Hawke's Bay recognises tikanga Māori values as being the key to Māori health outcomes that are appropriate, accessible and affordable.
Our commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and the underlying values contained in Tikanga Māori is reflected in our services and practices, staff working environments and in the way patients receive treatment and care.
