COVID-19 Testing Clinic

On the 14 August 2020 the South Canterbury District Health Board opened a drive through COVID-19 Testing Clinic:

  • The drive through clinic is located at the Baptist Church, 17 Wilson Street, Timaru
  • Open from 9am – 2pm, Monday to Saturday and 2pm – 4pm on Sunday
  • By appointment only – a referral is needed from your General Practice (GP) or Healthline on 0800 358 5453
  • This is not a drop-in clinic!

Once the clinic receives the referral, they will contact you to advise your appointment time.

When you get to the COVID-19 Testing Clinic, stay in your car. A member of staff will be there to help you and show you where to go. Please follow their instructions.

The team will talk to you and examine you to check how you're doing. If you meet the testing criteria, they'll perform a test. They'll also decide if you're well enough to go home or if you need further medical assessment. The test for COVID-19 is a swab that's taken from the back of your nose.

The COVID-19 Testing Clinic can't offer treatment for any other conditions. If something other than COVID-19 is making you unwell, you may need to contact your GP for further advice and treatment.
