User guides and troubleshooting tips for GP2GP users.

About GP2GP

GP2GP is used to securely transfer a patient’s electronic health record from one general practice to another. It was developed to reduce:

  • potential loss of clinical information when patients change general practice
  • the administrative burden of transferring files.

Information that can be transferred includes:

  • clinical notes
  • problem lists
  • medications
  • allergies
  • lab results
  • discharge letters
  • recall tasks
  • limited demographic information.

Accounting and appointment information is not included in the transfer.

Several hundred thousand records are transferred each year using GP2GP.
