Discharge by 11am
Timaru Hospital aims to send patients home from hospital by 11am each day.
Please make sure your transport has been arranged.
DISCHARGE BY 11am MEANS:
- You can plan ahead
- You have time to get your prescriptions filled
- Support can be organised at home
- You are settled at home before dark
- Your hospital bed is available for new patients
- It helps staff organise their day
- Procedures are not cancelled due to bed over-flow
Staff will keep you informed about your discharge time.
You are welcome to wait in the ward lounge until your transport arrives.
