Mental Health Services

Consumer representatives needed

The Consumer and Family Advisory Committee for Timaru Psychiatric Services is looking for new members.

We are looking for people who have either a personal experience of mental illness or addiction themselves, or are close family/whanau members of people who have experienced mental illness or addiction.

The successful candidates will have a desire to represent the interests of service users and their families, and be able to provide clear and balanced feedback on policies, procedures and documentation.  They will be required to participate in various projects, and identify consumer and family issues within the community. They will ideally have links within the community which enable them to gather feedback and information which can be provided to the committee.

Committee members attend a 2 hour monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of the month, at 1pm in the Kensington Training Room, Timaru Hospital.

A copy of the application form and Terms of Reference is available from the Advisory Office, phone 03 6872170.
