All South Canterbury DHB staff and services have new email addresses following a change from the old timhosp.co.nz to the new domain name scdhb.health.nz.

The health.nz domain better reflects the entire scope of SCDHB's activity and services, which extend further than just Timaru Hospital.

The new email addresses follow the protocol: first initial/last name@scdhb.health.nz (for example, jblogs@scdhb.health.nz).

An exception would be ceo@scdhb.health.nz to contact the Chief Executive's office, or messagetopatient@scdhb.health.nz to contact a patient in Timaru Hospital.

Inbound emails using the old timhosp.co.nz address will continue to be delivered for about the next six months, to give the public sufficient time to become aware of and use the new email addresses. Replies to such emails will automatically carry the new scdhb.health.nz address.

"Other district health boards use .org or .govt email addresses. South Canterbury DHB was the only one using .co.nz and this stood out as not fitting what we do. We were pleased when the .health domain became available and moved quickly to adopt it. South Canterbury is one of the first DHBs to move to .health," says Chief Executive Chris Fleming.

SCDHB's website moved to .health.nz last year and can be found at www.scdhb.health.nz.
