L8027Unlike other regions in New Zealand, primary and community health services in South Canterbury are integrated with the district health board. There is no PHO (Primary Health Organisation) in this area.L8027
General practitioners, pharmacies and other primary care organisations come under the "Primary and Community Services" division of the DHB.
South Canterbury DHB also funds aged care and home-based support services in the community, works in schools, promotes public health awareness, and plans for emergencies such as pandemics or natural disasters.
